Vision

The Office of Outreach and Recruitment is committed to building connections throughout the college and the community.

What We Do

The Outreach and Recruitment Office provides information to traditional and non-traditional students, parents, faculty, and the community to educate and promote the value of a lifelong education, and to recognize Central Piedmont as a valuable educational option. We are dedicated to maximizing student access to Central Piedmont Community College and to providing support and information for the transition to college regardless of age and background.

Goals

  • provide timely information about the college, policies, procedures for smooth enrollment
  • provide support, assistance, guidance and resources for potential students to meet their higher education aspirations
  • educate the community about Central Piedmont programs and benefits through presentations, personal contact and mailings
  • provide team efforts with Central Piedmont faculty, staff, and former students to attract new students
  • provide awareness and support a culture of higher education in the college’s service area through outreach and recruiting activities including: college/business fairs, open house, and high school visits

High School Information

Central Piedmont Community College provides a number of opportunities and resources for high school students to further their education in and beyond high school.

  • Career and College Promise

    Career and College Promise offers qualifying high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn college credits for free while still attending high school.

  • Summer Bridge Program

    The Summer Bridge Program gives recent high school graduates an opportunity to get a jump start on college life while earning credit in this 6-week free summer enrichment program

  • Presidential Scholars Program

    Students in the Presidential Scholars Program will receive scholarships to completely cover tuition and fees for a maximum of two years (fall and spring semesters). If eligible, Presidential Scholars could still receive other financial aid funds, such as Pell Grants.

  • College Connection

    College Connection (video) is an early registration opportunity and guided enrollment program for currently enrolled CMS high school seniors to start their college process during the months of April - March. Participants will be registered for their fall semester of college before even graduating from high school! You are required to complete all the College Connection Enrollment steps outlined on the Central Piedmont enrollment page in order to participate in College Connection.

  • Year Up!

    YearUp is a transition program that has been introduced to the Charlotte area through Central Piedmont Community College starting August 2019.
