North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper announced earlier today (Oct. 21) Phase Three of statewide coronavirus restrictions will remain in effect until at least Nov. 13.
In Phase 3, which began Oct. 2, bars, entertainment venues, movie theaters and large outdoor venues were allowed to reopen with capacity restrictions. Capacity limits remained in place for restaurants, and mass gatherings were limited as well – 25 for indoors and 50 for outdoors.
As a friendly reminder, open registration for spring classes begins Nov. 9. Also, registration for Corporate and Continuing Education courses is ongoing.

The Central Piedmont Central Campus, located in Uptown Charlotte, is the oldest and largest of the Central Piedmont campuses. The 31-acre campus serves a diverse population annually.
Expanded Evening and Weekend Classes
Beginning in fall 2020, we will offer expanded course offerings of our most in-demand classes on weekday evenings, Fridays, and Saturdays at its Central, Harris and Levine campuses, to give you more options so you can complete a two-year, college transfer degree more quickly.
These new course offerings are comprised of more than 70 class sections of 20 high-demand, general education college transfer courses. The classes will be offered in sequential order and focus on a variety of subjects, ranging from biology and public speaking, to psychology and business.
New North Classroom Building Now Open
The new North Classroom Building, located on Central Campus next to Giles, is open and ready to welcome students for the spring 2020 semester in January. Classes in this building will appear as "North Clas" on schedules.

Most of Central Piedmont's restrooms are standard facilities — individuals are welcome to use the facility that matches their gender identity. The college also provides gender-neutral/family restrooms at the following locations:
- Central High Building, second and third floors
- Elizabeth Classroom Building, ground floor
- Health Careers/Belk Building, second floor (located inside Classroom/Lab 2101)
- Overcash Performing Arts Center, first and second floors
