Student Records

Student Records is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and security of academic records for the college.  In-person services to students are provided at each Central Piedmont campus.

  • Enrollment Verification Processes

    Enrollment Verification for Insurance Purposes

    Central Piedmont Community College has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide official Enrollment Verification for insurance purposes. Students may obtain verification that they are or were enrolled during a specific term only after the drop/add period of that semester if they are registered for at least half time and have their Social Security Number on file with the college. Log in to the Centrl Piedmont login website with your Central Piedmont username and password and click on the “Enrollment Verification – Obtain Proof of Enrollment” link. This will take you directly to the National Student Clearinghouse website where your enrollment verification, from Fall 2006 to the present semester, is located.     Enrollment Verification for Loan Deferment/In-School Deferment

    Central Piedmont Community College has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide Enrollment Verification to loan deferment companies. Your loan deferment form should be faxed to the National Student Clearinghouse at 703.742.4239. If you have questions about a form that was already sent, you can go online to degreeverify.org or contact their Customer Service office at 703.742.4200.

    Enrollment Verification for Degree Verification

    Central Piedmont Community College has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide degree verifications. The National Student Clearinghouse can be contacted at degreeverify.org or National Student Clearinghouse, 13454 Sunrise Valley Drive, Suite 300, Herndon, VA 20171.

  • Grade Change Information

    Students seeking grade changes may inquire about the status of their grade at the Student Records department of any Central Piedmont campus. Students must follow the grievance process in order to submit an appeal for changing a grade.

  • Name Change

    Students can change their names by visiting any Central Piedmont Records office with picture identification and a government document showing the updated information. Students can also send an email using their Central Piedmont issued student email account. Students will need to include in this email their student ID number, their name, and a copy of the government documentation.   

  • Address Change

    To change your address on file with the college:

    • go to MyCollege
    • go to the Students Menu
    • go to the User Account section
  • Request for Student's Taxpayer Identification Number

    The request for student’s taxpayer identification number form (PDF) will allow students to submit their social security number or individual taxpayer Identification number to Central Piedmont so that their 1098-T form can be filed. Any questions concerning form 1098-T, please contact the Business Office at 704.330.6964 or email cashiering@cpcc.edu.  

    Return the completed signed form in person to any Central Piedmont Campus Registrar’s Office/Records Office. You can also mail the completed form to:

    Request for Student’s Taxpayer Identification Number Purpose

    Under federal law, you are required to provide the requested information.

    Penalties for Failure to Furnish Correct Social Security Number

    Failure to furnish correct social security number. If you fail to furnish your correct social security number or tax identification number to Central Piedmont Community College, the IRS may impose a penalty of $50 unless your failure is due to reasonable cause and not to willful neglect.

    Penalties for Misuse of Social Security Numbers

    If Central Piedmont Community College discloses or uses your social security number in violation of Federal law, Central Piedmont Community College may be subject to civil and criminal penalties.

    Privacy Act Notice

    Section 6109 of the Internal Revenue Code requires you to give your correct social security number or tax identification number to persons who must file information returns with the IRS to report certain information. The IRS uses the numbers for identification purposes and to help verify the accuracy of your tax return. The IRS may also provide this information to the Department of Justice for civil and criminal litigation and to cities and states to carry out their tax laws.

Student Identification Cards

Student IDs are made at all campuses. Make sure to keep your ID card because there is a $5 replacement charge for lost cards. ID schedules may be adjusted during active registration.
