    CDL 7200 Learning to Drive a Commercial Truck Class "A" (CDLA)

    Course Requirements

    Before registering for the course, you must meet the following requirements: 

    • be at least 18 years old

    • have a valid North Carolina driver’s license 

    • obtain a North Carolina Class A learner’s permit

    • pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and hold a valid DOT medical card

    • complete and pass a DOT drug screen no more than 21 days before class registration
      • Negative results are required to enroll/remain in class. 

    Class A learner's permit, DOT physical, and drug screen are not required to attend the mandatory information session.
