Earn College Credit in High School
Central Piedmont offers high school students several opportunities to get a head start on your higher education by earning college credit.
Program Options and Enrollment Steps
Central Piedmont provides three options for high school students to earn college credit. Visit each program page to learn more and enroll:
- Career and College Promise Dual Enrollment College Transfer Pathways
- Career and College Promise Dual Enrollment Career and Technical Pathways
- CMS Middle College High Schools (Cooperative Innovative High Schools): Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) students can enroll in innovative high schools and middle colleges to earn college credits and complete their high school classes simultaneously. Unlike the Career and College Promise programs, students in innovative high schools and middle colleges can take a wider variety of classes.
Visit the CMS website to learn about Hawthorne and Performance Learning Center, two innovative high schools.
High school students 16 years old and older may also enroll in non-credit Corporate and Continuing Education courses (except basic skills) with approval.
