In light of COVID-19 health directive clarifications now provided by the Mecklenburg County Public Health Department -- and adhering to our stringent pandemic safety protocols -- Central Piedmont will move some career and technical education classes back to on-campus, in-person delivery as of January 14. Check your student email for details.
Class sections that began the semester as online or hybrid will continue online until Feb. 2, at which time the college will provide further guidance. Students with questions about the mode of their classes – online or on-campus – should contact their instructors directly and check Blackboard.
Online: Respiratory Therapy Program Information Session
Location: Online in Webex (learn how to use Webex)
Come learn more about Central Piedmont's respiratory therapy program at our information session. Respiratory therapists treat people with disorders affecting the cardiopulmonary system, such as asthma, emphysema, pneumonia, cardiovascular disorders, and trauma. Using Central Piedmont's advanced and task trainer simulators, you will learn proper techniques and improve your decision-making skills in an interactive environment. Through repeated skills and scenario training, you will be better prepared to work safely with patients. When you finish our program, you will be eligible to take the National Board for Respiratory Care certification examination.
Our respiratory therapy program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). We pride ourselves in a competitive, award-winning program; in 2018, we received the Distinguished RRT Credentialing Success Award.
At the information session, we will tell you more about what it's like to be a respiratory therapist, how to become a respiratory therapist, our program requirements, and how to apply to our program.
