Catamount Connection Program

As a Catamount Connection student, you will be guaranteed admission to Western Carolina University to pursue a bachelor’s degree after you complete an eligible Central Piedmont associate degree.


This unique program offers you a way to complete your bachelor's degree at Western Carolina University after you earn your associate degree at Central Piedmont. Take advantage of the North Carolina Promise tuition plan, which reduces the cost of in-state tuition to $500/semester, providing you an affordable way to achieve your educational goals.

Eligibility Requirements

  • To be Considered for the Catamount Connection Program

    • be a currently enrolled student at Central Piedmont in a degree-seeking capacity in good academic standing
    • earn and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 with a minimum GPA of 2.2 in the most recently completed academic term
    • earn an associate's degree from Central Piedmont in a college transfer program or in an applied program for which an articulation agreement exists
    • demonstrate good citizenship and conduct
  • To Transfer to Western Carolina

    • submit the application for admission and all required records by the university's deadline
    • submit the application fee or waiver and fulfill all commitment action steps
    • in addition to the application for admission, you must also complete the Catamount Connection Application Form
