Anti-Hazing Procedure
I. Statement of Purpose
Central Piedmont Community College takes student safety and welfare very seriously. The following procedures have been developed to track and report hazing incidents. The policy is in accordance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act, an amendment to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). Central Piedmont expects that its students and community members will not engage in conduct that is defined as hazing under the North Carolina Anti-Hazing Law and as otherwise determined by the College.
II. Accountability for Reporting
Students, faculty and staff are responsible for reporting incidents of hazing and suspected hazing. Failure to report an incident of hazing will be viewed by the College as compliance (through passive participation) in the hazing activity and is a violation of the Hazing Policy. Failure to report an incident of hazing may also constitute a violation of federal and state law. Students, faculty and staff should report hazing or suspected hazing to any of the following offices:
- Security Services
- Office of Student Conduct and Civility
- Central High, Room 337
- 704-330-6819
- Student Affairs

- Report Directly (in person)
- Any Central Piedmont Security Officer, Sworn Campus Police Officer, college staff, or the appropriate law enforcement agency, if warranted
Anonymous reports are accepted.

Central Piedmont is committed to the health and safety of our students. In compliance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act, as well as the Clery Act, and to help students make fully informed decisions about joining organizations, the Campus Hazing Transparency report includes information on incidents or reports of hazing involving any student organizations adjudicated through the Office of Student Conduct.
The report includes:
