Radiography

The Associate in Applied Science in Radiography will prepare you to become a highly skilled radiologic technologist and play a critical role in patient diagnosis and care. This program combines rigorous academic coursework with extensive hands-on clinical training in healthcare settings throughout the region. As a graduate, you will be eligible to apply for national certification and pursue state licensure.

What You Will Learn

In this program, you will complete comprehensive courses in radiographic procedures. You will learn about imaging principles, radiation protection, patient care, pharmacology, pathology, and anatomy. 

As a student, you will gain a strong foundation in anatomy and physiology and master imaging theory and radiation science. All students must maintain minimum grade requirements in all radiography courses as you progress through the program. You will also learn professional behavior consistent with healthcare standards.

The Details

  • Clinical Expectations

    Clinical education begins early in the program and continues throughout all semesters. You will rotate through affiliated hospitals, outpatient imaging centers, and specialty clinics to gain real- world experience performing diagnostic imaging procedures under supervision.

    Expectations include:

    • completion of required clinical competencies
    • safe operation of radiographic equipment
    • accurate patient positioning and image acquisition
    • adherence to radiation safety standards
    • demonstration of ethical and professional conduct
    • effective communication with patients and healthcare teams
  • Locations and Course Delivery Methods

    In-person classes and labs are held on the Central Campus.

    Clinical training is completed at affiliated partner sites and you should expect to travel to these locations on a weekly basis.

  • Costs and Aid

    Besides regular tuition, some courses in this program have laboratory fees. Other costs include textbooks, a physical exam, and immunizations.
