3.12 Instructional Role of Curriculum Faculty in Academic Governance

Central Piedmont Community College's curriculum faculty works in partnership with the administration to ensure the overall effectiveness of the educational programs. The faculty are responsible for the content, quality, and effectiveness of the curriculum, and contribute to the college's educational program decision-making processes in the following manners:

  1. Have primary responsibility for content and quality of the curriculum within College policy.
  2. Participate in curriculum decision making activities at program, division, and college-wide levels.
  3. Take part in advisory bodies, such as program advisory committees, which facilitate broad-based participation in planning, educational program matters, and related issues.
  4. Serve on applicable committees based on the President or designee’s appointment.
