Financial Aid and Scholarships

Financial need is calculated by estimating a student's cost of attendance and then subtracting the student's aid index. This helps determine how much will be owed and how much of that cost the student will be able to pay using their own resources. The difference between these two figures is considered the student's financial need.

It's important to note that, unlike the general cost of attendance, the financial aid cost of attendance includes both direct costs (charges paid directly to Central Piedmont — for example, tuition and fees) and indirect costs (for example, transportation, food, housing, supplies). Students enrolled in programs that require professional licensure, certification or a first professional credential, will be able to include the expenses associated with obtaining the license, certification or credential in their cost of attendance.
