The federal work-study program is a need-based financial aid grant that provides part-time employment opportunities for eligible students.
About work-study
As a work-study student, you can choose between working on campus for Central Piedmont, working as a tutor for young learners through the America Reads / America Counts program, or working for one of Central Piedmont’s local non-profit partners. Federal work-study awards are limited by funding, availability of positions and completion of the HR onboarding process. Student employees can earn up to $15.53 per hour for on-campus positions and up to $18 per hour for off-campus positions, paid on the 15th of each month. Most students work 10–15 hours per week on average. However, the number of hours you can work depends on your total federal work-study award, your class schedule and your academic progress.
