Eligibility
To qualify for aid, you must:
- be a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen with a valid Social Security number
- have a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent (review requirements)
- maintain satisfactory academic progress to keep funding active year after year, including maintaining a 2.0 GPA and finishing at least 67% of your classes
- enroll in a state-approved degree program or federal-approved certificate program that is at least 16 credit hours

Important dates and deadlines
Missing a deadline can mean missing out on money for college. Mark these dates on your calendar so you are ready for the school year.

- Fall semester priority deadline: July 15
- Spring semester priority deadline: Dec. 1
- Summer semester priority deadline: May 1
After priority dates, you may still apply for financial aid. However, less state aid and scholarships may be available, so it is in your best interest to apply before the priority deadline passes.
