Eligibility
Eligibility requirements for TRIO are determined by federal guidelines and regulations. All applicants must be enrolled at Central Piedmont in a degree or certificate program. You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States and meet residency requirements for federal student aid.
You must also meet one or more of the following criteria:
- be a first-generation college student (meaning neither parent has completed a four-year college degree).
- be income eligible as defined by federal income guidelines. Learn more about the income guidelines as outlined by the Department of Education TRIO income eligibility criteria.
- have a documented disability on file with the Office of Disability and Access Services. You must present your accommodation plan as proof of disability.
To apply for TRIO Student Support Services, you should have an academic need, plan to graduate from Central Piedmont and be in good academic standing. If you hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, you are not eligible to participate in the program.
