The Fire Protection Technology degree stands out by combining classroom learning applying real-world experienced from career firefighters that prepares students for careers in fire protection and emergency services. Students will learn how to prevent, manage, and respond to fires and other emergencies. They will gain knowledge of fire behavior, fire prevention, emergency response, building codes, and fire safety procedures. The program develops professional knowledge that prepare students for careers in the fire service and other emergency management fields.
Graduates qualify for employment in governmental agencies, industrial firms, insurance rating organizations, educational organizations, and municipal fire departments. Graduates currently employed in the fire service have opportunities for skilled and supervisory-level positions within their current organizations.
