Test format
The ACCUPLACER EFL test is divided into four portions: a short essay (composition), listening, reading, and grammar.
You have two hours to complete the short essay (composition) portion. The listening, reading, and grammar portions are multiple choice and are not timed.
Test scheduling
Test results
You will receive your ACCUPLACER short essay (composition) score within 48 hours.
You will receive your ACCUPLACER listening, reading, and grammar scores immediately.
To view your test scores, log in to MyCollege with your Central Piedmont login and navigate to the "Test Scores" section.
Retest policy
You can retake the ACCUPLACER portion of the academic ESL (EFL) placement test once a year.
You need to get permission from an academic advisor to retake the grammar section.
