The Speech Language Pathology Assistant program prepares you to support licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering therapeutic services. Offered in collaboration with Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute, the program blends classroom instruction, hands-on labs, and supervised clinical experience. You’ll build practical skills while preparing for eligibility for North Carolina registration and employment in a growing healthcare field.
Speech-language pathology assistants support licensed speech-language pathologists by helping deliver therapy, prepare materials, assist with screenings, and maintain records.
Graduates may work in schools, healthcare facilities, home health agencies, and private practices under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist.
Most students complete the program in four to six semesters, depending on whether general education courses have already been completed.
The program is offered in collaboration with Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. Program-specific courses and clinical fieldwork are delivered through Caldwell, while general education courses may be completed at Central Piedmont.
