Public safety refers to the protection of people and communities from harm, emergencies, and hazards. It includes services like law enforcement, fire departments and emergency medical services that prevent crime, respond to disasters and ensure health and safety.
The Public Safety Administration program prepares you for careers across the fire and emergency services. Graduates pursue roles such as firefighter, fire officer, fire inspector, fire investigator, training instructor and fire marshal. You can also enter emergency management as a specialist, coordinator or EOC staff member, and qualify for positions in public safety administration, industrial safety and risk management.
