The Associate in Fine Arts in Music program helps you prepare for a bachelor’s in music program. You will study music theory, history, piano and performance. Through lessons and ensemble work, you will grow as a musician, build confidence, and develop the skills you need for auditions and advanced study. This program gives you a strong start for your future in music.
Yes. Auditions are required for applied lessons, which are part of the degree. Prepare one song that shows your musical ability, plus scales and sight‑reading. Pieces do not have to be memorized.

Many graduates transfer and later become performers, composers, private instructors, ensemble directors, or work in arts administration, audio production, or music education.
All music classes and performances take place on Central Campus, with access to state‑of‑the‑art rehearsal and performance spaces.
You do not have to own your own instrument to get started. Some instruments may be available to borrow or use on campus. Ask the department for details about what the program can provide.
