About the program

More Than a Job NC is a grant-funded initiative available to residents who are currently enrolled in the Mecklenburg County Food and Nutrition Services Employment and Training Program. The mission is simple: to connect you with the specific training and credentials needed to boost your career possibilities and contribute to your family’s long-term financial well-being.

Eligibility

To be eligible for More Than a Job NC, you must be:

  • receiving or eligible to receive Food and Nutrition Services (EBT) in Mecklenburg County (SNAP, EBT, Food Stamps assistance, etc.)
  • at least 16 years old
  • able to work
  • not receiving Work First or Refugee Employment Services
