About the Information Technology – Cybersecurity program
Cybersecurity professionals protect the systems, networks, and data that organizations depend on—and demand for them in the Charlotte region has never been higher. You’ll build a strong security foundation in networking, operating systems, Linux, virtualization, protocol analysis, and security concepts, then specialize in a career track.
What you'll learn
The Red Team track trains you to think like an attacker in perimeter defense, ethical hacking, and Python-powered exploitation—so you can find and fix vulnerabilities before adversaries do. Coursework aligns with Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and PenTest+. The Blue Team track focuses on defending networks in real time intrusion detection, network programmability, and endpoint detection and response. Coursework aligns with SSCP and Cisco CyberOps Associate certifications. The Digital Forensics track teaches you to investigate cybercrime, recover data, and analyze digital evidence the incident-response and investigation skills that financial, healthcare, and government employers rely on, aligned with industry digital-forensics certifications.
