About the Health Information Technology program
The Health Information Technology program prepares you to manage, analyze, protect and report patient health information. You will gain skills in medical coding, electronic health records, compliance and data quality. You'll also see how health information supports patient care and healthcare operations. The associate degree includes advanced courses in leadership, law and system design. This prepares graduates to work effectively in today’s data-driven healthcare settings.

When you finish this program, you will be prepared and eligible to take the national certification examination to become a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) administered by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). This credential is recognized throughout the United States.
