About the programs

About the Engineering program

The Associate in Engineering is a transfer degree. It’s for students who want to earn a Bachelor of Science in Engineering at a UNC System university. Coursework includes general education along with advanced math, science and pre‑engineering classes. Areas of study include civil and environmental, chemical, computer and electrical, mechanical and aerospace, and systems and industrial engineering. This program is not designed for direct employment.

You will build advanced skills in calculus, physics and chemistry while learning core engineering concepts. Coursework strengthens problem‑solving, critical thinking and analytical skills used in engineering fields. The program prepares you for upper‑level engineering classes after transfer and supports success in a wide range of engineering majors.
