Lisa Schlachter, Central Piedmont Community College’s chief philanthropy officer, oversees the college’s private philanthropic strategy and leads the Central Piedmont Community College Foundation. She is responsible for fundraising campaign development and execution, as well as the Central Piedmont Foundation Board.
Schlachter joined the college in 2023, bringing more than two decades of experience in advancement for non-profit organizations and education institutions. Since assuming her role, Schlachter has increased the college’s presence in the philanthropic community. The Central Piedmont Foundation has grown to over $100 million in assets, and the foundation is now providing nearly $5 million in scholarships to students each year — with a goal of continuing to substantially increase that figure annually.
Prior to joining Central Piedmont, Schlachter was vice president of financial development at the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, leading development officers for 17 branches and two resident camps across the city. During her nine years at the YMCA, she assumed increasing leadership roles, helped to navigate through the pandemic, increased annual giving, and led several capital fundraising projects.
Before the YMCA, Schlachter served as assistant head of school for advancement at St. Paul Christian Academy, an independent school in Nashville, TN. During her tenure, Schlachter directed a transformational capital campaign, helping to secure the largest major gift in the school's history. She started her career serving in roles in donor relations, foundation relations, and major initiatives at Belmont University in Nashville. She also worked in development and alumni relations for Vanderbilt University in Nashville during the institution’s $1.25 billion campaign.
Schlachter graduated with a bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Louisiana and earned her master’s degree in higher education with a focus on institutional advancement from Vanderbilt. She is a recipient of the Dave Jones Award for Excellence in Institutional Advancement from Peabody College of Vanderbilt and the John 17:21 award from the YMCA of Greater Charlotte.
