Dr. Tracie Clark is Central Piedmont Community College’s senior vice president of strategy, talent, and institutional effectiveness. In this role, she provides executive leadership and supports the college mission by providing oversight for the college’s strategic plan, data and research, human resources, organizational learning and leadership development, policy, public grants, accreditation, and legal affairs.
Dr. Clark has been with the college for more than 25 years, bringing deep higher education and community college system expertise to her roles. She started her career as a communications faculty member and assumed increasing leadership positions as a discipline chair, Quality Enhancement Plan director, and special assistant to the president. She has also served through leadership in NC Reconnect, the Student Success Leadership Team, and the North Carolina Community College Economic Impact Study.
Over the years, Dr. Clark has been recognized for her servant leadership, passion for students, and dedication to Central Piedmont and the broader community college system. She is both an Aspen Rising Presidents Fellow and a Catalyst for Change Award winner. Additionally, she has published articles and a book chapter on supporting adult student success. She currently serves on the State Employees’ Credit Union and Truliant Federal Credit Union Advisory Boards, and is a former member of the advisory board for the Junior League of Charlotte.
Dr. Clark holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from North Carolina Central University, a Master of Arts in communication from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Doctor of Philosophy in curriculum and instruction from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
