About Business Continuity at Central Piedmont
The Business Continuity team works collaboratively to:
- Strengthen the college's resilience and ability to continue serving students, employees, and the community during disruptions.
- Partner with divisions and departments to identify critical functions, assess operational risks, and develop recovery strategies.
- Promote a culture of preparedness by integrating continuity planning into departmental operations and decision-making.
- Support the college's mission by helping departments maintain or restore critical services following a disruption.
Responsibilities
Business Continuity is responsible for
- Managing the college's Business Continuity Program and continuity planning framework.
- Conducting Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and supporting risk assessments to identify critical functions and recovery priorities.
- Developing standards, tools, and guidance to support departmental continuity planning efforts.
- Managing Central Piedmont Ready (Kuali), the college's platform for creating, maintaining, and reviewing departmental continuity plans.
- Facilitating the business continuity planning process from development through review and maintenance.
Additional Support
Business Continuity also supports:
- Departments in developing, maintaining, and updating continuity plans for their critical operations.
- Testing, validation, training, and exercises that strengthen organizational resilience and preparedness.
- Recovery planning efforts that help departments resume critical functions following a disruption.
- Cross-functional collaboration to improve preparedness, response, recovery, and continuity capabilities across the college.
- Continuous improvement initiatives that help the college adapt to changing risks and operational challenges.
