The tuition rate for credit earning courses depends on whether you are classified as a North Carolina resident or a nonresident.
In-state (North Carolina) residents
- $76 per credit hour
- Maximum: $1,216 per semester (16 or more credit hours) plus fees
Out-of-state residents
- $268 per credit hour
- Maximum: $4,288 per semester (16 or more credit hours) plus fees
Some high school diploma and high school equivalency courses are offered tuition-free. Adults age 65 or older may audit classes if space is available without paying tuition but must still pay required fees.
Update your residency information
If you are seeking college credit at Central Piedmont, you are responsible for completing residency appeals and requests for reconsideration through the Residency Determination Service and notifying the college of any changes to your residency status before the end of the affected term, including if you lose or abandon North Carolina residency while enrolled.
To report a change in residency status, complete the Residency Certification Number Submission form or contact a Navigator at any campus.
