CPCC Spring Plant Sale
The annual Central Piedmont Community College Fall Plant Sale will be held Friday, October 3rd from 9:00am until 6:00pm and Saturday, October 4th from 9:00am until Noon at the Horticulture Building and Greenhouse 8120 Grier Road Charlotte, North Carolina.
A major fund raising event, the sale will feature a wide variety of fall vegetable, annual flowers, shrubs, perennial flowers and herbs and climbing vines.
Horticulture faculty and staff will be available to answer any questions and assist with plant selection.
Cash and checks will be accepted during the sale.
The Associate in Applied Science Degree – Horticulture Technology is awarded by the College upon completion of the program.
Along with the Associates of Applied Science in Horticulture Technology awarded at CPCC, we also offer Certificates that are comprised of intensive short term training in the following areas:
- Landscape Design
This certiﬁcate will prepare individuals for careers in the area of landscape design. Course work includes Plant Identification including trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials, Landscape Design 1 & 2 including working landscape plans, perspectives and color renderings, and Computer Aided Designs.
- Horticulture Maintenance
This certiﬁcate will prepare individuals for careers in maintaining commercial & residential landscape and turf areas. Course work includes Plant Identification including trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials, Pest Management including IPM & PHC, and Landscape and Turfgrass Management such as proper mowing, aerating and fertilization.
- Turfgrass Management
This certiﬁcate will prepare individuals for positions in the area of Turfgrass Management. Course work includes Turfgrass Identiﬁcation and Culture, Equipment Operation & Maintenance, Irrigation design, installation, & trouble shooting, Pest Management including IPM & PHC and Soils and Fertilizers.
- Plant Production
This certificate will prepare individuals for careers as growers of nursery and greenhouse crops. Course work includes Plant Identification including trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials, Pest Management including IPM & PHC, Propagation Techniques and the efficient Operation of Nurseries and Greenhouses.
