The Reverse Transfer program is a partnership between the North Carolina Community College System and the UNC System that allows students to combine credits earned at Central Piedmont with those earned at their university to complete an associate degree.

How does the process work?
- After opting in, your transcript is sent to Central Piedmont from your UNC System university twice a year (in approximately February and July).
- The Graduation Office at Central Piedmont will evaluate the transcripts to determine if an associate degree can be awarded.
- The credits will be evaluated to see if the combined courses meet Central Piedmont and state graduation requirements. Records will only be evaluated for an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree.
- If you are found eligible for an associate degree, you will be certified as a Central Piedmont graduate, and the credential will appear on your official college transcript. You will then receive an email at your university student email address and your Central Piedmont student email address with instructions on how to order your degree/transcript.

What are the benefits?
If you transfer from Central Piedmont to a UNC System university before earning an associate degree, you may not realize you are still eligible for the associate degree as well. This can increase your overall earning power and marketability. Since credits are transferred back to Central Piedmont, you can meet graduation requirements without additional coursework.
Who is eligible?
You must have been previously enrolled in a degree program at Central Piedmont and have completed at least 25%. This is equivalent to 15-16 college-level credit hours.
You must also opt in to the Reverse Transfer program at your current university. Check with the Registrar’s office to learn how to do so.
NOTE: Only UNC System colleges participate in Reverse Transfer.
