About NC Boost
Boost is a partnership between the state of North Carolina, the North Carolina Community College System, and participating students.
Boost can help you accelerate your education by:
- receiving a $100 monthly stipend for being a part of the Boost program and meeting program milestones
- reducing or eliminating your tuition costs
- paying for some or all your textbooks
- helping with other costs of attending college
- connecting you with academic advisors, tutors, and other support services
- providing a dedicated student success coach to keep you on track for graduation
You may qualify if you:
- are a North Carolina resident (eligible for in-state tuition)
- have a high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate (Boost is not open to dual enrollment students)
- receive Pell Grants or the Next NC Scholarship
- receive veterans benefits
- enroll in an eligible Propel NC program, such as:
- healthcare
- engineering
- advanced manufacturing
- trades and transportation
- information technology
- public safety and first responders OR
- enroll in an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate in Engineering degree program
- have completed 24 or less college credits when you apply to Boost
- are able to complete college-level math and English requirements within your first academic year
- attempt at least 24 credits per year (summer, fall and spring)
Note: you cannot be a part of any other scholarship program, such as the Truist Honors Program, Opportunity Scholars, Honeywell STEM Academy, Bridge to Careers, or Student Ambassadors, to qualify for this program.
