19th Annual MLK Challenge

To honor the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., Student Engagement is hosting a Martin Luther King Jr. Challenge during January 2024. The purpose of this challenge is to engage the Central Piedmont community in advancing racial and social justice, developing a deeper knowledge of self-identity and community activism, and honoring the legacy of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

January 12, 2024: Readings from "Letters from Birmingham Jail"

Join us for a drop-in session celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy through readings from his impactful "Letter from Birmingham Jail."

Activities will include readings and discussions of powerful excerpts by Dr. Hugh Dussek, history professor. Coffee and donuts will be available. This event is open to students, faculty, and staff.

January 15, 2024: MLK Day of Service

The Student Engagement Department is offering multiple service opportunities for students to volunteer on MLK Day of Service. All events will take place on Monday, January 15 from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
