Cinema, Scents & Stories: Celebrating Tippi Hedren’s Impact

Location: Harris Campus Theater 1120 and Lobby

This program will explore the history and influence of Vietnamese Americans within the nail salon industry, including the role Hollywood actress Tippi Hedren played in helping introduce Vietnamese refugees to professional manicuring during the 1970s.

Participants will explore this history through a screening of The Birds, guided discussion, and interactive activities. The program will also include a Kahoot activity covering nail anatomy, manicure procedures, and Tippi Hedren's connection to the development of the nail industry, along with aromatherapy hand massages as part of the experience.
