Featured information
How it works
The salon operates as a teaching clinic where students gain hands-on experience. Because this is a learning environment, services may take longer than at a traditional salon. Every service is overseen by a licensed professional to ensure quality and safety.
For first-time hair color services, a full consultation and a patch test are required 48 hours before the scheduled appointment.
Cosmetic Arts and Barbering services are open to the public as well as Central Piedmont students, faculty and staff. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. For safety, children are not permitted on the salon floor unless they are receiving a service.
Services
A wide range of hair, nail and skin treatments are available:
- Hair care: Shampoos, cuts, blowouts, natural hair styling (braids, twists), and deep conditioning
- Chemical services: Permanent and semipermanent color, highlights, balayage, relaxers, and perms
- Nail care: Manicures, pedicures, and gel polish applications
- Skin care: Basic and spa facials, makeup application, and facial waxing (eyebrow, lip, chin)
Note: The salon does not provide hair additions, artificial hair enhancements or artificial nail services.
Cost and payment
Central Piedmont offers competitive pricing to keep beauty and wellness services accessible to the community. Payments must be made via credit or debit card. Cash and checks are not accepted.
Current students, faculty, staff and retirees receive a 10% discount with a valid Central Piedmont ID.
Note: As a teaching clinic, the college maintains liability insurance for its student practitioners. Clients are encouraged to discuss all salon policies regarding service results, as there are no refunds.
