Scholarship portal
The scholarship portal is open to students who are taking college credit courses and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Eligible students submit one general application to get matched to scholarships available exclusively to Central Piedmont students.
Step 1
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Most students are able to complete the application in 30 minutes or less.
Step 2
Log in to the scholarship portal and complete the general scholarship application. You will then be matched to all scholarships for which you are eligible, and your application will be automatically submitted.

Yes, you must submit a new scholarship application each year. The portal opens each March for the upcoming academic year.
Deadlines vary by term, but it is best to apply early before funds are exhausted. To view current deadlines, visit the scholarship portal.
To be considered for need‑based scholarships, we encourage students to complete the FAFSA. We understand that not all students are able to do so. Students without a completed FAFSA will still be considered for all merit‑based scholarships for which they qualify.
These are scholarships for which you may be eligible but require additional information for the application to be completed. Click on the scholarship name to review the description and supplemental questions. If you meet the qualifications found in the scholarship description, click Apply.
Yes, you will be notified. Scholarships are typically awarded for the upcoming fall term by the end of July. However, scholarships will continue to be awarded until funds are fully exhausted.
No. While most opportunities require a minimum 2.0 or 2.5 GPA, scholarships exist for many different types of students.
Scholarships can cover tuition, fees, electronic textbooks, and physical textbooks, but restrictions can vary on a scholarship by scholarship basis.
After submitting the FAFSA, you may be awarded grants as part of your financial aid package. Like scholarships, most grants do not need to be repaid.

Scholarships and your bill
If you have received a scholarship from Central Piedmont, it will be applied to your account. To review your how your scholarship reduces your balance due for tuition and fees, please follow these steps:
- Log into MyCollege.
- Select Student Finance.
- Select the invoice term.
- Select the Financial Aid dropdown to view scholarship name and amount.
- Select the Review Award calculator icon.
If the Review Award section shows that you owe a balance for the term, contact the Cashiering Business Office. If your total financial aid award amount is more than what you owe in tuition and fees, you can use any remaining funds in the Campus Store for textbooks.
