Preparing Your Honors Program Application

Thanks for your interest in becoming a Central Piedmont Truist Honors Program Scholar!

Before you complete the application:

  • You must apply for admission to Central Piedmont and be accepted before applying to the Honors Program. Your high school and any previous college transcripts need to be on file at Central Piedmont. 

    You will be asked to provide your personal information including address, number of credits completed, and disclose any student code of conduct violations. If you are a high school student, you will need to provide details including expected graduation date, and current cumulative GPA with no rounding.

    Note: High school program students (i.e., Middle College and dual enrolled) students are eligible to apply after high school requirements are completed.

    To be eligible for the Truist Honors Program will have completed no more than half of your degree or transfer credits when you apply and will have at least 24-credits remaining.

  • Locate your Central Piedmont ID number and GPA in Watermark

    Your Student ID number is displayed once you log into Watermark with your Central Piedmont credentials. Find your GPA in the Transcripts tab.

  • Requirements for students to apply to the Honors Program:

    -you have a minimum 3.0 GPA cumulative–no rounding, or

    -by submitting a 500-600 word essay

    Applicants who do not meet the minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 must write a 500-600 word essay. This essay will be uploaded as a file in the application.

    Additionally, applicants will respond to two separate prompts expressing their interest in the Central Piedmont Honors Program.

    The essay and prompt responses are scored based on content, grammar, sentence completion, and organizational structure. Responses must be the applicants original work.

    Applications must be complete, signed, and dated for consideration.

  • The applications for fall 2024 are now closed.

    Applications for spring 2025 will be accepted from August 12-September 13, 2024.
    Notifications for spring 2025 acceptance will be sent to your Central Piedmont email by September 20, 2024.

  • Students accepted into the Truist Honors Program will be notified of the scholarship application dates, and more information will be provided at a later date. Truist Honors Program Scholarships are reserved for accepted students only, and are not guaranteed.
