Re: College’s Emergency Response Plan and Crisis Communications
In light of the recent tragedy at Virginia Tech, I want to reassure you that CPCC has a comprehensive emergency response plan that has been recently reviewed and discussed. This plan can be found on our CPCC homepage at www.cpcc.edu. The webpage outlines what students and faculty should do in the event of an emergency, and I hope you will take time to review it. Our goal is to keep our students and staff informed of any emergency situations through email, website, and on our cable station CPCC TV 17. We also hope that you will feel comfortable making us aware of any unsafe situations on any of our campuses. Students can utilize the Campus Watch program by calling 704.330.6876 or Campus Security at 6911 to report any unsafe situations.
I want to extend my deepest heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims at Virginia Tech. Please take time to remember the students, faculty, and staff in your thoughts and prayers at this extremely difficult time.
