The Wall Poems of Charlotte, an art project featuring North Carolinian poetry on buildings and news racks, will be featured in the next new episode of the Emmy Award-winning series "Our State," produced in partnership with Our State magazine and broadcast on UNC-TV.

Poet, artist and CPCC instructor Amy Bagwell believes everyone deserves the chance to encounter poetry. This impulse led Amy and her former student, artist Graham Carew, to found The Wall Poems of Charlotte.

The project's murals not only celebrate North Carolina's literary legacy, but also unite Charlotte citizens of all ages and backgrounds in an effort to beautify their city and make poetry accessible to anyone who stops and looks.

Experience the magic of art, literature and community combined in “Poems for Everyone,” airing Thursday, Aug. 7 at 8 p.m. on UNC-TV.

The segment will feature CPCC Advertising + Graphic Design students Christian Baumgart, Michael Drake and Nalee Thao.
