Azure Dev Tools for Teaching (formally Microsoft Imagine)

Azure Dev Tools for Teaching (formally Microsoft Imagine) is an online software system where authorized students can download and access a wide range of Microsoft developer tools, servers, and platforms. There is no charge to download the software as long as you are an eligible user in the System.

Your university/college is licensed under the MSDN Academic Alliance Program which enables eligible students and faculty members to access software available under the Program. E-academy Inc., a partner of Microsoft, is providing Azure to you.

Accessing The System

To access the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching, you will need to create a Microsoft account using your CPCC email address. Start by clicking the “Sign-in” button on this page:

When prompted to enter your email address, click “Create one” link below the email field. You will then be prompted to enter an email address, use your CPCC email address here.

Next you will create a password (Note: this password is managed separately from your CPCC account password).

After creating your password, you will receive a verification code via email, enter the code from the email and click the next button. You will then be prompted with a security text image, enter the text from the image and click next.

You will then be taken to the academic verification page, here you will need to enter your CPCC email address into both fields and click the “Verify academic status and accept terms” button.

You will then receive another verification email, click the link in this email and sign in with your Microsoft account.

After signing in you will be taken to the Azure education quick start page.


Downloading Software

If you just finished creating your account you will be taken directly to the Azure education quick start page. If you are returning to download another program you will first need to sign-in, this can be done through the link:

From this page click the “View All” option under the “Get Software” section to be taken to a listing of the tools available for download.

Selecting tools from this list will open a panel on the right side of the page with a download link and a product key.
