Q: Do I need a degree?

A: It is advisable to have at least an Associate of Applied Science degree such as the one offered here at CPCC. You can transfer to a 4-year college to supplement your skills and development, and that 4-year degree will certainly help if you ever decide to be involved in the instructional/educational field. More than anything, you will need excellent printed samples of your work. This is something that we stress here at CPCC for graduating students, and within the curriculum, provide ample opportunity to produce such samples.

Q: How long will it take?

A: The Associates Degree program course normally takes at least 4 semesters of study as indicated on the curriculum page. That means that it should take a full-time student, taking a regular load of classes, about 2 years to complete the program. Some courses are offered in the evenings as well as the daytime and some must be taken in sequence (see curriculum page). Depending on your employment demands during the school year, the program could take more than 2 years to complete.
