Who is eligible to participate?
Summer & Fall graduates of degree and diploma programs from the previous year, as well as current Spring graduates, are invited to participate in this ceremony. Summer 2014 potential graduates with GPAs of 2.000 or better who can demonstrate to the Graduation Office that they have two courses or less with a maximum of seven credits that they will complete during the summer 2014 term may request permission from the Graduation Office to participate in the 2014 ceremony. These students should provide proof of registration for their final courses. This request should be made when the student has registered for their summer courses and they have applied for summer graduation (after May 1st). Please note: The names of potential summer 2014 graduates will not appear in the program.
When will I receive information about the ceremony?
Detailed information is mailed to eligible students in April.
Where can I purchase my cap and gown?
Caps and gowns can be reserved online through midnight March 30, 2014 by clicking here. Reserved caps and gowns may be picked up by eligible graduates at the Central Campus Bookstore beginning April 22nd.
What if I would like to participate in the graduation ceremony, but I borrowed a cap and gown?
The use of a cap and gown not purchased through the CPCC bookstore must be approved by the graduation office prior to the graduation ceremony.
Purchasing graduation regalia through the bookstore provides confirmation that you will participate in the graduation ceremony. Therefore, if you do not purchase a cap and gown through the bookstore, you are required to purchase a tassel. If you do not purchase the tassel, there will not be a name card for you at the graduation ceremony.
Is there a rehearsal for the graduation ceremony?
There is no rehearsal for the college graduation ceremony.
What time should I arrive at the graduation ceremony?
Doors will open for the college ceremony at 2:30 pm on May 15th. Graduates may begin arriving t that time. Please arrive in your cap and gown, as there are no dressing rooms available for students. Please also make arrangements to leave your belongings (purses, cell phones, etc) with someone else, as there are no lockers available.
How many guests may I invite? Do they need tickets?
All seating is first-come, first-serve. You may invite as many guests as you like and they do not need tickets to gain admission to Bojangles' Coliseum.
How much does parking cost?
Parking for the evening is free.
How long will the ceremony take?
The ceremony will last approximately two hours.
Will I receive my degree or diploma at the ceremony?
Degree and diplomas are not issued at the ceremony. All students receive a congratulatory letter from the College President.
