Behavior in the Library Policy

Central Campus Library

All floors:

  • Cell phone conversations in the hallways and stairwells; please mute ringers
  • No food allowed at computers; beverages with lids allowed
  • Users may be asked to present a current Central Piedmont ID to use resources.

Second floor: main floor of temporary library:

  • Noise level: normal speaking voice, cell phone conversations in the stairwells only; ringers muted
  • Food allowed only in exterior hallways

Third floor: quiet study area of the library:

  • Noise level: quiet, minimum talking, cell phone conversations in the stairwells only; ringers muted
  • Food allowed only in exterior hallways

All Other Library Locations

  • All other campus libraries are No Food Zones.
  • Beverages with lids are permitted.
  • Noise level: quiet, minimum talking, cell phone conversations taken outside the library, ringers muted
  • Users may be asked to present a current Central Piedmont ID to use resources.

Food in the Library Policy

  • No outside food allowed. 
  • Beverages with lids are permitted on all floors.

Guest Computer Use Policy

  • The library reserves the right to limit guest user access during peak usage.
  • At the Central campus library, a maximum of 4 concurrent guest users at any one time.
  • State Issued Photo IDs are required.
  • At the Central campus library, guest users are limited to 1 hour per day. Other campus locations may limit guest time at staff discretion.
