Course evaluations provide faculty and administrators with important student feedback about what is working in their courses and what is not working.
We take these evaluations seriously. Course evaluations strengthen teaching and learning, ultimately improving the courses offered at Central Piedmont. Responses from the evaluations are summarized in reports that are are shared with instructors, associate deans, deans, and the vice president for Academic Affairs.
The evaluation period opens two weeks before a course ends and closes at 11:59 p.m. on the last day of class. You will receive an automated email from Central Piedmont Course Evaluations as a notification when you have courses available for evaluation. The evaluation consists of 20 questions and takes just a few minutes to complete. Most of the questions are multiple choice, though there are two open-ended questions for comments. The more specific you can be about an observation or opinion, the more helpful your response.
How to Complete Course Evaluations
There are several ways to access your course evaluations:
- Follow the link provided in the notification emails from "Central Piedmont Course Evaluations."
- Use the link posted to course evaluation messages on Blackboard.
- Use the direct course evaluations link at cpcc.bluera.com/cpcc.
If you need any technical support, including if you forget your password or username, while completing course evaluations, contact the ITS Help Desk at email@example.com.
You may change your responses to a course evaluation at any time before the evaluation period closes. Once the course evaluation period closes, responses cannot be changed. To change your responses for courses that are still open for evaluation, log in to the course evaluation system and select the course evaluation to be updated by clicking on the course name from your list of courses. Navigate through the course evaluation questionnaire, updating your responses. Click the submit button to re-submit your course evaluation with the updated responses. When the evaluation period for a course is closed, the course will be grayed-out on your list of courses and you will not be able to access the course to change evaluation responses.
After the course evaluation period closes, instructors are able to begin posting grades for their classes. In order to try to ensure that responses are not influenced by posted final grades, the course evaluations cannot be re-opened after the evaluation period has closed. We do try to provide sufficient notification to students about the course evaluation period with a series of emails. The last email notification is sent 3 days prior to the closing of the evaluation period. However, if you do miss the evaluation period for a course, you can still voice your opinion of the course and/or instructor by contacting the instructor or the associate dean.
Results are distributed to instructors only after grades have been submitted. Responses are confidential, and you will not be linked to the results given to faculty and administrators - no identifying data are included or shared with faculty. Comments to open-ended questions are shared as written. The system does not report any demographic information. We report only the information contained in your verbatim responses.
Course evaluation information for faculty is available in the internal site.
