Congratulations on obtaining a Co-op this semester!
The purpose of the Co-op Orientation is to give you an overview of what to expect this semester during the Co-op class and identify who to contact should you need assistance during the term.
Even though Co-op is done outside the classroom, keep in mind that Co-op is still an academic class just like ENG-111 or COM-110. The expectation is that once you register & pay for Co-op, you complete the course by fulfilling all necessary requirements. You will receive a letter grade and college credit just like any other class.
Co-op is a great way to gain practical work experience while in school and benefits you in several ways:
- Allows you to put classroom theory into practice;
- Helps you develop professional networking skills;
- Enables you to understand company culture and what the work world is all about;
- Gives you the opportunity to identify strengths, interests, and areas for improvement.
During the semester you will be supported by your assigned Faculty Coordinator, or Instructor, for the Co-op class and also by the Workplace Learning Office.
We are excited that you decided to further develop your education by participating in Co-op. Please click “Next” to continue with the orientation.
