Certified Welding Program for Displaced Workers

If you’re a displaced worker seeking professional training in the welding industry, CPCC’s Construction Welding Program can equip you with the skills and credentials you’ll need to secure employment in the commercial construction industry.

As a student in CPCC’s Construction Welding Certificate program, you’ll learn to weld structural steel plate and pipe. Our curriculum classes, totaling 17 credit hours, will train you in the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process on mild steel. They include: WLD 110, WLD 115, WLD 116, WLD 215 and WLD 141.

Upon successful completion of the program, you’ll receive your skills certification in accordance with the American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1, Structural Welding Code (up to the pipe level), and take AWS tests that provide proof of welding competency in these various technical areas. (All welding tests are conducted at the CPCC AWS accredited test facility at the College’s Harper Campus.)

Classes begin July 6 at CPCC’s Harper Campus, and continue through December 2009. This special certificate program is only available to displaced workers. Students are tested to meet eligibility criteria. To enroll or to learn more about the CPCC’s Welding Construction Certificate program, please contact Anver Classens at 704.330.4413.
