TRiO members are encouraged and supported in their efforts to search and apply for scholarships. One popular scholarship for women is WINGS - Women Initiating and Nurturing Growth through Scholarships - given by the group Women Executives for Community Service.

The most recent TRiO members to receive WINGS are:

Latre Adamah, (TRiO member since 2008) and plans to pursue a nursing career

Doni Shepard, (TRiO member since 2007) enrolled in the Human Services program with an emphasis on substance abuse counseling and plans to transfer to UNCC to pursue a degree in Social Work

Gwen Green, a 2008-09 graduate of the TRiO program with an AAS degree in Human Services, majoring in Substance Abuse, and plans to pursue another degree at Queens University
