Jeff Kirby – Jeff.Kirby@cpcc.edu

Jeff’s Grandfather was a mechanic/welder and Jeff began helping him almost as soon as he could walk and hold tools. Jeff has a diploma in Welding from Rowan Cabarrus Community College as well as 6 welding certificates, he also holds a diploma in Harley Davidson motorcycle mechanics from The American Motorcycle Institute which is now Wyotech in Daytona, Florida. Jeff has also studied auto mechanics, motorsports marketing, sheet metal fabrication, and machining. In 2009 he served as an official for the USAC Ford Focus Midgets. Before joining the CPCC family he previously taught welding and fabrication at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Jeff has worked in Law Enforcement, spent some time as a professional Bass fisherman, and even worked with his Mom in her Real Estate company but he is most happy when he is sharing his knowledge with others and passing on skills that people can use to earn a living and better themselves. Jeff lives in Salisbury with his wife and has a daughter and a stepson. Jeff does some custom motorcycle repair and fabrication in Salisbury under the name Fred Motor Company, which is the same name his Grandfather operated under for 30+ years.

Randy brings more than 30 years of racing experience as a fabricator, welder, mechanic and truck driver to his role as a motorsports instructor at CPCC. Prior to joining the CPCC family, Randy enjoyed professional success serving on the winning teams for Kulwicki Racing, Hendrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing. Among his crowning achievements was earning a first place finish at the 1993 Daytona 500 while working for Joe Gibbs Racing. When not teaching at CPCC, Randy may be found at INDIGEN ARMOR of Charlotte, N.C., where he works as a welder. A native of Florida, Randy has lived in the Tarheel State for more than 20 years. He and his wife Michelle reside in Concord, N.C., with their daughter Paige.
