CPCC Foundation

Foundation position:
(Reade Baker, April 2009)

In order to get Foundation solicitation assistance:

“We need green light from the College.”
With all College programs, the College needs to endorse the need and intentions for the funds through your VP to assure the need are in line with mission and priorities.

Note: A request for this endorsement has been submitted to Richard Zollinger to present to Dr. Zeiss.

International Learning's ability to solicit gifts:

All fund raising efforts are coordinated through the Foundation to avoid conflict with existing efforts and prospects.

Prospects need to be approved by the Foundation prior to any solicitation.

Foundation is happy to help identify qualified prospects, research potential, plan the best approach, and be directly involved with the solicitation as appropriate.

Note:
- An endowed scholarship must be at least $10,000.   Yearly interest creates the scholarship amount available each year.

-   Smaller amounts, yearly scholarships, also possible.

Suggestions:
-   All gifts to Foundation can be specifically designated.
(employee campaign?)
-   Strategize committee membership and invite members with international connections.
-   Aaron Means, Charlotte’s International Cabinet, will provide a list to us of International companies.
-   Aaron Means will also present a proposal to international business community in support of gifts for our program.    I will write up a draft for approval.
-   Kurt Waldthausen, also on CIC, is interested in our program.
His foundation gave scholarship to Germany this year.
-   Research donors who have supported study abroad at other local colleges and universities.
-    Steps we can take?
