Icebreakers (sample) are important when groups come together each semester or when bringing in new members. Throughout the year, they can be utilized to re-energize a group or break up the monotony. Icebreakers are different from team builders because they are lower risk - meaning they do not require an individual to share as much or step out of their comfort zone. Icebreakers are designed to be fun, giving people the opportunity to bond through movement, conversation, and laughter.
Contact the student life coordinator at your campus for additional ideas and available resources or tools for team building activities, such as thumb balls.
