Spring 2011
Unprecedented Growth in the Spring Term of 2011
Brimming with confidence after a 6-4 win in the Revolution Cup's first round 7PM Thursday (5-19-11), CPCC Gold quickly regrouped for an 8PM second round match against number two seed Attic FC. Playing their first game of the tournament, and still stung by the upset loss to CPCC of the previous week, the Attic FC parlayed their fresh legs and focus minds into a 4-0 half time lead. Following the break, CPCC successfully put the missed opportunities of the first half behind them to score three unanswered goals to draw to within a single goal. Although CPCC threatened to tie several times in the closing seconds, Attic would hold on for the 4-3 win to advance.

Regular Season Ends with a Pair of Impressive Wins
CPCC Soccer closed the regular season with a pair of great wins, beginning with the Gold's stunning 6-5 win over two-time Open Division defending champion Attic FC. After trading shots on either end, the Gold broke through first with a shot from the right side of the box. CPCC would score again and take a two goal lead into the break. The defending champions inevitably came back to tie the score with several well executed set pieces, the final one coming with less than two minutes to play. But instead of bowing to the pressure, CPCC Gold sped up the attack in the final frantic seconds, getting the back of the net with the game winner only seconds before the official's whistle.
In the second match, the CPCC Black made easy work of their "B Flight" opponent "Babies Leg" with an 8-2 victory. The win pushed the Black to a 4-1-2 final record and a third place finish in the "B Flight". Their goal differential was an impressive +21.
