Spring 2013 Preview

CPCC's Soccer Club will re-form this spring with a new range of possibilities for the College's soccer-playing men and women.  During the past few years, the club has broadened its competition formats and venues, and with the addition of futsal, the number of women signing up for the club has steadily increased. For spring 2013, the re-opening of the Taylor Hall gym on the College's Central Campus means the club may have a permanent home for futsal, our co-ed recreational play. Play begins the first week of February 2013; games will be Tuesdays, 4:45pm - 7:15pm.

We are also continuing with our compettitive men's team, whose practice sessions will be held 7:30-10PM Tuesdays and Saturdays 8am-10am. Practice attendance is required, and inability to attend will disqualify you from participation. Games are typically Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons.

Sign up online now and make plans to attend one of the organizational meetings listed below.

  • Tuesday, Jan. 22, 5:45pm-7pm, TA Gym on the Central Campus
  • Thursday, Jan. 24, 5:45pm-7pm, TA Gym on the Central Campus
  • Tuesday, Jan. 29, 5:45pm-7pm, TA Gym on the Central Campus

We'll meet old friends and welcome new club members, announce the tryout and practice schedule, discuss league options and more.

Spring 2012 Recap

CPCC Men Kicked out in Semifinal by Babies Leg
After a 5-2 win over the Brokeback Mountaineers in the first round of the Men's 7v7 tournament, CPCC faced Babies Leg in the semis.  The Tigers opened strong with two well-deserved goals, but the 'Legs kicked their way back into contention with a goal just before the break.  The second half devoloped into a mirror image of the first, as CPCC let their 2-1 halftime lead slip away with two unanswered goals.  The 3-2 loss knocked the Tigers from the tournament, but did not erase the satisfaction of a winning season built on many thrilling goals and new friendships.  CPCC's composite Won-Loss-Tie record of 5-2-1 (4-1-1 regular season plus 1-1-0 tournament) was a product of an outstanding effort by the club's select men and Coach Dan Bailey. For a recap of the regular season scores, and the final league table, go to the league's schedule/results page.  Commentary, team roster and more are on the fall 2011 season review page.  Well done, men!
