Match Reports

Week #s 4 & 5 (3-5,6-2010) Missing Starting Keeper, Tigers Drop Pair
Saturday's familiar foe Charlotte United took another close result from CPCC, scoring two goals and protecting their goal despite repeated opportunities by the Tigers. Sunday, the experienced Premier FC took advantage of a Tiger team without starting keeper Nate Worthington in mounting a six-goal barrage, burying CPCC's two early scores.

Week #3 (2-29-2010) CPCC Rally Falls Short
Eleven o’clock a.m. kickoffs are rare in the CPSL, and it’s probably a good thing for CPCC, as the young Tigers seemed to sleepwalk through the first minutes of Sunday’s match.   Perhaps it was the sound of the Attic’s second goal (like the first goal, off a direct kick) that nudged the Tigers awake, because the Tigers went on the dominate play for the remainder of the half.  Although not rewarded with a goal for their initial efforts, the Tigers resumed their push after the break. Ten minutes in, Elvir Dedajic scored CPCC’s first goal of the young season when he found the back of the net from the top of the box. CPCC kept pressuring for the remainder of the half, piling up shots but failing to score. The Tigers effort was reflected on the stat sheet (CPCC outshot Attic FC 17-10 for the game) but not the score board.  With about three minutes left in the match and everyone for CPCC pulled up in an effort to gain the equalizer, Attic took a breakaway and netted their third goal to put the game out of reach for the 3-1 final.

Considering the Club has had but one practice this season, Coach Lopp is encouraged by what he has seen to this point. “Things are coming around. We will be getting some key players for next week’s games and look forward to building on our great effort of this week.”  With a make-up game 2:00PM Saturday and a regularly scheduled game 3:00PM Sunday, Coach Lopp will have a lot more to go on after next weekend.
